Alan Kwan and ‘Bad Trip’

For many is hard to see video game as art piece, or that it can have same aesthetics… Games are usually described as time consuming, addictive or childish. Play is for children.

And yet, many studies show that play simulates and prepares us for making decisions easier in life, because of the challenges we encounter during game.

I was reading articles about contemporary artists using game and I approached Alan Kwan and his game ‘Bad trip’. A simulation game, there are used memory blocks; reality and dreams.

The design, the artistry, the symbolism are so pleasing. The animation work is so delicate and intrigue.
